South of the River

So November arrives again and therefore it’s time for me to start writing again. This years story I am describing as…
An epic, urban, gothic fairy tale.
That’s quite a mouth full, but if you think of stories Like Neil Gaiman’s Neverwere or China Mieville’s Kraken, you might get an idea of the feel I’m aiming for.
The ‘cover blurb’ for this story could read something like this…

A Heroine undertakes an dangerious quest across a fantasy Edwardian version of Bristol which never quite happened, in search of her brother who has been ‘taken’ by the Fay queen. Along the way she will have to face dangers from dragons, trolls and the mysteries of the citymancers and their part in the fall of the Mayor and ‘The Change’ which swept across the city in the wake of the Mayors fall.
